Seniors and Social Security

With the economy the way it is seniors are taking a real liking on their SSI income. We missed the cost of living raises 2 years in a row due to how they figure cost of living index. They use a different formula for SSI than they use for federal employees. Over the last 3 years alone my gas bill for the car went up more than what I got for a increase in SSI this year. The electric bill has gone up 70% in the last 2 years along with propane being sky high. The Republicans talk about cost cutting and their corporate friends are doing the opposite. You don't hear any politicians talking about the plight of a great number of retirees, the Republicans want to cut back our benefits/entitlements which we have already payed for and shouldn't part of any budget problem. I really think this whole thing about the budget shortfall is a long planned conspiracy by the Republican Party to eliminate SSI and Medicare
